About Chris Silva's Wire and Rods

I've been wiring hotrods and customs for more than 30 years and it all started with a project my dad and I bought when I was 14. We found a beat up 1955 Ford F100 that cost only $350 (at that time). The whole idea was to have fun, work together and for me to start my automotive education.

One day, while starting on the truck, I no sooner turned the key when I heard a crackling noise followed by the smell of melting plastic and smoke. I jumped out of the truck, lifted the hood just to watch wiring go up in smoke! The previous owner had run several wires through a hole in the firewall. The wires had rubbed through the insulation causing it to short.

Unknown to me, at the time, I would see this often now. When my dad got home, I explained what happened. Now my dad was an old "hotrodder" and had a reputation of fixing anything that had wheels.

He looked at me and said, "do you know anything about wiring?" "Not really," I answered, so he suggested that I "get a book!" I went to the library and found a book covering DC wiring.

It wasn't the neatest job but everything worked and I had built a fuse panel to protect the various circuits. My dad was impressed and proud and I really enjoyed doing it.

Since then, I have wired countless cars, designed electrical components for various companies and now own a business doing what I do best and love.

Our shop is located in the Central Coast area of California specializing in custom wiring for American made automobiles up through 1970.

All wiring is custom made to fit your vehicle. Components are available from computerized fuel injection to LED lighting. We hide as much of the wiring as possible. With our wiring, we provide a wiring portfolio with before and after pictures, schematics and AutoCAD drawings.

WE CAN HANDLE ALL YOUR ELECTRICAL NEEDS AND PROBLEMS!
